Employii Work Experience: Meet Arlo & Abigail
Nov 27, 2024This month we welcomed Arlo and Abigail to the Employii team! As part of their year 10 work experience the girls joined our team for a week, to gain insight into what working in HR is like, the different services we offer clients and to develop their knowledge of contracts, modern awards, policies & procedures.
At the end of the week we asked the girls to share a bit about why they chose Employii, their interests and what they learnt.
Get to know Arlo and Abigail!
Arlo - I am interested in law or sports management as a career, but I'm still not sure and am exploring other things.
I chose to do an internship at Employii as I was interested and wanted to learn more about HR and what it involves. I wanted to learn more about HR and what people do on a day to day basis, it was great because I learnt about the importance of HR for companies and also some of the other things people in HR do that isn’t usually expected or known about.
As HR seems to be a very diverse career, I’m interested in looking further into some of the things HR workers would do that isn’t typically done or expected.
Abby - I am interested in Physio and law but had little experience in an office setting so wasn’t sure yet what I wanted to do.
I chose to be an intern at Employii to understand what HR actually is and the different careers you can go into within HR. Prior to the internship I didn’t know exactly what HR was and what they do.
I learnt a lot about contracts and Fair Work awards, as well as how important it is to have some sort of HR in a business, even small ones, as they play a critical role in keeping a business running and making sure employees are happy and cared for.
